Over 30 years ago Heather Heber Percy, living in Shropshire at the time, realised just how difficult it was to find a long-term partner in a safe and discreet way. So, in 1983 she established The County Register – a traditional introduction agency specializing in one to one matchmaking. The company was so successful at helping people find love, and she identified such a need, that nearly four decades later the company is now one of the leading traditional matchmaking agencies. With the headquarters having moved to London, and with her traditional methods having changed very little, the agency now covers all the UK, but its heart is very much still in Shropshire.
What We Do
The County Register originally started with introducing fellow farmers, landowners, and the County Set. Over the years the memberships have expanded to incorporate attractive and successful singles from a multitude of professions living in both the town and country. To both young and old, they provide an exclusive confidential and personal service to those genuinely unattached, who are serious about looking for a new and honest relationship. Heather continues to be the Director of The County Register and with her wealth of experience and knowledge in the dating world has been appointed the current chairman of the DAA.
Part of the uniqueness and exclusivity of The County Register is that every single member is interviewed in person by a senior member of the team. This creates a membership, with knowledge about our clients that cannot be gleaned from a bit of paper or over the telephone, resulting in the most compatible introductions and the safest possible form of dating.
Our Matchmaking Services
Our memberships fall into three levels and to discuss the best possible option for you we always suggest meeting in person. We know there is a financial investment in joining our service and that you can have reservations about meeting new people in this sort of proactive way. We want to be able to advise, counsel and listen to your apprehensions and ensure that this is the right agency for you to give you the best possible membership. We take this part of our business very seriously and to that end we offer a face to face free initial consultation before we proceed. If after this you choose to join us, we would arrange your face to face interview, in your own home if convenient, to complete our comprehensive dating questionnaire. This, together with the photos we will take during out meeting, will form the basis of your professionally written personal profile. You will be ID checked and vetted in a process that all our members go through before being passed to your matchmaker. This is where the personalised individual searches start and your dating journey to find that special somebody.
