We have to go back to the early 1980’s to discover when The County Register came into being, when two young mums Heather Heber Percy and Geraldine Turner, met everyday outside the school gates in Ludlow, Shropshire and began to discuss the idea of launching a bespoke and upmarket dating service for farmers and the rural community, launching it originally in 1983.

ver those 40 years The County Register has grown and prospered to become one of the country’s leading dating services, having enjoyed many thousands of successes down the years and introduced thousands of couples to love. We lost Geraldine Turner to retirement in 2019 but we are proud to say that Heather Heber Percy remains with us today, half a lifetime after founding the company.
