We have been around for a very long time, way before the advent of internet-based dating or dating apps. In fact, we were founded just over the border in Ludlow, Shropshire, as long ago as 1983, when two young mums at the school gates, Heather Heber Percy and Geraldine Turner, decided that there was a market for helping farmers and country folk find love and they soon began recruiting members in both England and Wales. Word spread and soon The County Register was a national service, finding love and romance for clients right across the UK.

We lost Geraldine Turner to retirement in 2019, but we are proud to say that Heather Heber Percy, still works with us
today, half a lifetime after first forming the company. During that 40 years she has become one of the most famous
personal matchmakers in the world.
We operate with warmth, courtesy and transparency, which we hope you will be able to pick up on right from your first
telephone enquiry or email and Tracey Cater, our Senior Membership Adviser, is usually your first point of contact.
Tracey herself has worked within the dating industry since 2006 and has helped literally thousands of new members find
love during those years.
We get to know our members really thoroughly. Tracey will take you through our Discovery Questionnaire at some stage to
build up the fullest picture of you that we possibly can. Getting to know you hopes, wants and aspirations, so she can
offer the right advice and membership level for you, according to your requirements.
We will build on this when you become a member through your profiling interview, to ensure that we portray you at your
absolute best. This is done either in your own home, at our head office or via Microsoft Teams, according to which
membership level you have gone for. If you plump for a head office interview, we can also offer our professional
photography service from our small office studio.
After that we get to the exciting part of your membership, when your matchmaking service begins, with a welcome call
from either Karen or Lucy, our Executive Matchmakers and we start introducing you to other members. Both Karen and Lucy
have achieved wonderful success in their careers and have helped many thousands of members find love over the years –
maybe it will be your turn next.
The majority of our client base are university educated, successful within their chosen field and are all searching for someone special to share their lives with. Many are high profile within their specialist field or occupation, so our confidential approach is usually one of their biggest considerations in joining us. Our service is totally discreet and there is no public profile or photographs of you on the internet or elsewhere that people could stumble across accidentally without your knowledge.
Our clients within come from all walks of life and backgrounds: they range in age from 30's to 80' and it is our objective to help them all find love or a compatible partner, or hopefully both.
